Red Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo has treated 21 very-special customers to a unique ownership experience. Last weekend lucky European buyers who purchased the special “Launch Edition” of the brand’s sultry 4C sports car enjoyed two days of fun in Italy.

These customers hail from France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and of course, Italy. They spent a day worshiping at hallowed ground, the Maserati plant in Modena, home base for the new 4C and countless other automotive icons including the Quattroporte, Granturismo and Grancabrio.

Aside from a day at the factory they also got a special sports driving course at the Varano de’ Melegari, a 2.4 kilometer-long circuit in Parma where they were coached by professional drivers. The racetrack was a perfect place for them to push a variety of Alfa Romeo vehicles to the limit without endangering other motorists on public roads.

The new Alfa Romeo 4C should accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds; top speed is 258 km/h, which is about 160 miles an hour. The “Launch Edition” of the Alfa Romeo 4C brandishes exclusive features including carbon fiber trim and two special paint colors, either “Alfa Red” or matte-finished “Carrara White.”

The car is powered by a 240 hp 1.75-liter turbocharged engine. It also features a lightweight carbon-fiber structure. The number of limited-edition 4Cs is pegged at 500 units in Europe.
